This talk looks at the idea of collective effervescence, the energy and unity people experience when working together through shared activities. Using the Hello Wood project as a case study, Giovanni Panico will explore how teamwork, trust, quick iteration and collective knowledge shaped the design and fabrication process.
The session will reflect on the role of Ubuntu, shared responsibility and hands-on making, moving away from the idea of the individual “superhero” designer towards a more collaborative model of architecture and fabrication. Through project images, process stories and lessons from the build, Giovanni will show how values, people and material decisions come together to create meaningful work.
This talk is suited for visitors interested in collaborative design, making culture, digital fabrication, team-led architecture and the human side of delivering complex projects.
